# ATLAS X — Gate G1 Physical Inventory & Measurement Sheet

**Purpose:** collect every missing physical fact in one session, then close Gate G1.

This is not an open-ended questionnaire. It is the single controlled input package needed
to produce the Revision A schematic, BOM and parametric 3D assembly without guessing.

## Safety setup

- Disconnect the HP charger and remove/disconnect the HP battery before continuity or
  resistance measurements.
- Never use continuity or resistance mode on a powered board.
- Do not probe CPU, RAM, GPU, SSD buses, battery contacts or unknown fine-pitch connectors.
- Revision A does not electrically probe the HP power LED. Its state is read by a non-contact
  optical sensor; do not probe the LED ribbon for this function.
- Keep every screw and insulating film with the module it came from.

## A. Identification photos

Take one sharp, straight-on photograph for each item, with labels readable:

- [ ] complete HP motherboard, component side;
- [ ] complete HP motherboard, reverse side;
- [ ] white HP motherboard/spare-number label;
- [ ] CPU/heatsink/fan assembly and its connector;
- [ ] power-button/LED board and both sides of its cable;
- [ ] DC-input board/jack and both sides of its cable;
- [ ] SSD/HDD and its mounting/cable;
- [ ] RAM label(s);
- [ ] original HP charger label and plug;
- [ ] every daughterboard intended to remain in ATLAS X;
- [ ] all parts arranged together with a ruler visible, without overlapping.

## C. Mechanical measurements

Use millimetres and one fixed origin: motherboard lower-left corner in the component-side
photo. Record X to the right, Y upward and Z as maximum height above the board.

Also record:

- [ ] distance from motherboard underside to the tallest solder joint;
- [ ] minimum free space beneath the original fan intake;
- [ ] original heatsink screw locations and sequence labels;
- [ ] cable lengths measured connector-to-connector, excluding bend slack;
- [ ] connector insertion/removal direction for every retained cable.

## D. HP power-button contacts

Perform this section only with charger and battery disconnected.

1. Photograph and label the power-button connector pins from left to right as viewed in the
   photo: `P1`, `P2`, ... `Pn`.
2. Use continuity mode to find the one pair that changes from open to closed only while the
   original momentary button is held.
3. Repeat at least three times and reverse the multimeter leads once.

Accepted pair for `HP_PWR_SW_A/B`: ____________________  
Acceptance requires three identical results. Do not connect the PhotoMOS before schematic
review and a final unpowered confirmation.

## E. HP power-LED optical pickup

Identify the visible LED that most reliably follows HP electrical power. Revision A reads it
optically with a remote TEPT4400 in an opaque shroud; no LED ribbon pinout or voltage is required.

Record the LED lens dimensions, the free space above it and the direction from which a removable
sensor clip can be installed. The final shroud must exclude ambient light without pressing on the
LED board or blocking another component.

## F. Temperature baseline

With the original cooling system assembled and unobstructed:

Do not run the motherboard without its correctly fitted heatsink and fan.

## G. Gate G1 completion record

Gate G1 passes when:

- [ ] every retained module has an identification photo and keep/remove decision;
- [ ] adapter ratings and HP part numbers are readable;
- [ ] the power-button contact pair has three matching unpowered continuity trials;
- [ ] the power LED's visible behavior and the optical-sensor mounting envelope are recorded;
- [ ] motherboard outline, holes, connector locations and maximum heights are recorded;
- [ ] original airflow volumes and cable-clearance directions are known;
- [ ] all values are stored in millimetres and linked to the photo set.

After this page passes, the next deliverable is **AX-SCH-001: ATLAS X Control Board Revision A
schematic and calculated preliminary BOM**. No additional architecture questionnaire is
required.
